Joseph Nicolosi
Joe and his wife, Wendy, initially purchased their home in 1978 and have been full-time Alford residents since 2007. Both enjoy the natural beauty of the area and involvement in the community – Joe as a Trustee in a local UCC church and Wendy as an officer of the Alford Garden Club and Berkshire Quilters Guild. Joe was born & raised in NYC, received his B.S. at NYIT and Ph.D. in Physics at PINY in 1978. Before his retirement in 2012, Joe worked a 42-year career as a Scientist in Materials Analysis: Initially as a researcher at Philips Labs in Briarcliff Manor, NY studying the properties of semiconductors and finally as Director of Technology for Ametek, Materials Analysis Division in Mahwah, NJ developing microanalysis instrumentation for determining material composition and structure. Among their other interests Joe & Wendy enjoy “Blue Water” sailing, skiing, gardening and visiting their children in Utah, Texas and D.C. Joe is grateful for the opportunity to play a role in Alford’s achieving its goal of fiber-based Internet connectivity to every home.
